Mill Slough Watershed
A self-guided tour of the Mill Slough Watershed are available in either downtown Coos Bay or North Bend. Beneath both cities is an underground water way that until 1921, housed the city Mill Slow. Rains and high tides continually flooded the city, and residents decided to literally close and bury the Mill Slow inside a tunnel. Historic markers line the tour.
