Coos Bay Travel Guide
Welcome to Coos Bay!
Located on a small S-shaped inlet on the southwestern section of Coastal Oregon is Coos Bay, which boasts a selection of scenic views, sandy beaches and recreational areas. Visitors are invited to join in community-supported events such as the Run of Two Cities and the Jennifer—s Catching Slough Classic. In honor of its sister city Choshi, Japan, a series of manicured Japanese gardens can be found in the middle of Mingus Park, named the Chosi Gardens. Direct access to the Pacific Ocean is available from Coos Bay, which provides the town with a commercial passage as well as sheltered ocean coves and natural beaches. These natural areas provide ideal tourist destinations and recreational areas at both Shore Acres State Park and Sunset Bay State Park. For those wanting a different kind of water attraction, a hike up to Golden and Silver Falls might fit the bill.
